About Alycia

What I like best about what I do is either

the act of creating and feeling accomplished about completing a project,

making my mind's image come to life,

or being able to share pieces of myself with the world.

My artwork has been described as imaginative, vibrant, and unique.

I don't want my artwork to be just reproductions of the world around us.

It should be the visual of what you feel, and of what you cannot see.

It should make you think in a different perspective, and should also give you pieces of me.

I release a lot of my mind chatter into my art. It's a release for me, and in that way, I am always connected.

Why I Do What I Do

There is nothing that I don't love about creating a piece of art. I am in love with the whole process; dreaming up an idea, working through the selection of materials and colours, and finalizing the piece. I aspire to develop my skills and further display my full potential as an artist. I am always growing and trying new things and this keeps my work refreshing and new.

I like to keep the cost of my materials as low as possible without compromising the quality of them. I do this to keep the price of my artwork as low as possible, making it more accessible for anyone in the world to own it. I generally use themes that I am passionate about. If I love the subject matter or the idea of a piece of art, I am more likely to love the end result.

Currently, I am working on improving my skills and exploring new subject matter. I am finding my weaknesses and improving upon them. Throughout my life experiences, the subjuect matter of my art is evolving into something more personal. I work on putting a little piece of myself into each piece of artwork that I create. I know a piece of art is done when I feel it. When people see my artwork, I'd like them to feel it, too.
